Could see plenty of stars here. There were flashing white lights and red flashing lights. How can you tell what is the ISS and what is a plane
:o
Evening all,
Here late and was just gonna have a lurk before going to bed as feeling rough, I have been given 3 months of iron tablets from my GP and then have to retirn for another test to see if my levels are back at normal. i think this is why I have been feeling so drained lately.
But I logged in as you're talking about my favorite subject of the moment. :j
If it's any help to you gocat, or to any others, this is what i've learnt, started off by zippy and was it AAU?. You are not actually 'seeing' the ISS, you are seeing the sunlight reflected off it. This is why it is visible all the way across the sky for up to a couple of hours after sunset, as the sun thats below your horizon is still reaching the ISS, but any later, if the ISS is coming from where the sun sets, it will disappear out of view somewhere across it's path above you when it goes into whats called orbital sunset. So don't look for any kind of flashing lights, it's literally like a very bright star that travels from horizon to horizon in about 7 mins I would guess? (But don;t mind being corrected)
I hope this made sense! I have written about it in post 2 of this thread if thats any help.
FC, are you still about, am I right in thinking you were going to the airshow today?0 -

That explains it Dave, looked like a blue stick to me.Back to square one, no apg, no comment.0 -

Not really, sorry !
I hope they were coz I wave to them every time I see it pass! :rotfl:0 -
Just saw it and OH called to say he also saw a meteor. Then received a nasty email from my sister ( who is now abroad on another holiday with her friend)saying my daughter is not ill and needs to stand on her own 2 feet. She says she is selfish and its her fault Mum is in respite care. I am now sitting her crying because no matter what I do its never enough. I replied that it was so kind of her to send a nasty message to me just as I was going to bed and a few other things I could not say on here.0

Oh Rose, it isnt fair. You know you are doing the right thing, try to put their selfish comments to the back of your mind. If they thought as much as you do about their mum, they would be here now sorting it out.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”
