Promise I'm not a thicko. and the other people who responded prob copied me as I started it all by saying East. Oopsie! :p:D:rotfl: it's really tickled me that :rotfl:

My amended answer is E (for England)

This is off topic, but wondered if anyone could help?

Does anyone know Manchester at all?

My brother has just got a job in Manchester after being out of work for years. We are in North yorkshire, and he doesn't want to commit to renting a flat just yet in case the job doesn't work out (past experience).
So he's going to get the train every week and stay in a hotel, the ones he's found so far have been about £75 per day! (he'd be staying 4 nights a week)
His job is near the main train station, so would like a hotel within walking distance.

Just wondered if anyone that may know the area might have any moneysaving ideas?

Do you mean Piccadily train station or Victoria Fuzz? If you have not got things sorted out I know Manchester well so might be able to help :)

Next information came in MyFamilyClub email .

You sounded like you had a brilliant time with your dad. I was reading your posts keeping up.

My dad was a gambler liked his horseracing when he died mum found betting slips in his pockets. He was also a very big snooker fan. When he was a young man he played snooker was good beat one of the Davis bros cant remember if it was Fred or Joe. There was no money in the game then or he would have turned professional . Won a few amateur matches but because he had a young family and wife to support he had to pack in and went into the newspaper trade. Worked at the Daily Express in Manchester on nights til he retired .

I am reminiscing now better shut up :o

Never feel you should shut up tweets.
It is so nice to get more of a background on peoples lives and I like to hear everyones stories.
My dad was a master butcher. Inherited 7 shops in the late 60's but slowly shut all but one down as the supermarkets came to stay. He retired in the mid 80's and after a couple of years took a job at a research centre looking after and preparing the animals for experiments. Not nice but research is and was needed. He thoroughly enjoyed his time there for around 10 years until he fully retired.
Been retired 17 years now. He ran the butchers shop with his brother whom we visited in Ramsgate. His brother although several years younger sadly suffered from a stroke 14 years ago and came to ramsgate from bedford to be near his daughter.
My dad had a quadruple bypass in the 90's and you would never know his age just looking at him.
