Wondering if anyone can help.
Last year I won some John Lewis vouchers and decided to put them towards a new MacBook Pro, which I purchased last week.
Using my PC, I have RoboForm set to automatically fill in Log in details and addresses, without clicking anything.
Can this be done using a Mac?
Any help appreciated.

Unfortunately, I don't think it can, I downloaded it recently too, and I can't see any way to get it to fill in things either automatically or with any kind of keyboard shortcut.
How are you liking the Mac so far?

Thanks very much for replying.
I love the Macbook as it's so much faster than my old laptop.
Unfortunately though it feel like I'm having to learn to use a computer again, all the settings are so different.
Have used Roboform on MY PC for years and wondered about changing the settings to be able to use for comping.
Thanks for help.0 -

You're welcome!
I'm glad you love it! I love mine too, not sure I could go back now as I've forgotten how to use Windows! :rotfl:
You'll get there with learning it all, I think it seems a lot more user friendly than Windows (mind you, it was a really old version of Windows I was using so it might have been different more recently!
).
I had the same problem as I used to use Roboform all the time and felt a bit lost after switching to Mac, I bought 1Password, which was really good for everything at first, but then they changed the Firefox add on to be completely different when Firefox changed version once and I find it really slow (I think it was after version 5 of Firefox that it changed, I used version 5 for a long time afterwards but realised I needed to use a more up to date version eventually!
) it's faster on Chrome and Safari, but it seems to take too many clicks to fill in details from an identity, but it's really good for passwords and forms that you use a lot that you want to save though, and you can use a keyboard shortcut to fill them in, so it's quite quick for saved things, but it's quite expensive to buy.
One of the things I've found brilliant (it also costs, but I've used it so much that it's been completely worth it for me) is TextExpander, I find it great for any forms that are either flash based, or any that won't fill in very well from other programmes or browser extensions, you can choose what you want it to type, and you can set up a keyboard shortcut to do it, so you could type your whole name with a few keyboard presses, your address with a couple more, or any phrases you need to use a lot, for example I've got my details set up for emails that I send and it saves a lot of typing, and I don't have to have them in a signature as I can add them in really easily.
I think if you use Firefox or Safari then Roboform is much better than 1Password as you have a toolbar (which is how 1Password used to work) I'm using Chrome at the minute (I found Firefox crashed too often and lost my tabs) and it has a drop down button on the toolbar (which is how 1Password now works in all browsers
) so it takes another click to fill in details and passwords.
At the moment, I haven't found a perfect solution so I'm using multiple programmes and add ons to do things, I use 1Password for forms I have saved and passwords and Roboform (free version), TextExpander and browser extensions for details depending on how big the form is, if it needs a lot of details I find Roboform fills it in more quickly and accurately than an extension, and if it does fill something in wrong then I use TextExpander to fill it in right again.
It all sounds quite complicated but works for me for the moment! :rotfl:0 -
I have a Macbook Air and use Roboform with no problem. It's exactly the same as using it with a PC.

Thanks very much bargainhuntergal and becca wecca, your replies are very much appreciated.
Having recently bought the Macbook and learning all the features, have been still using my old PC for competitions, as Roboform means I can enter them more quickly.
If there are settings I can change for using Roboform, any help appreciated.
Thank you0 -
You can get your mac to remember the settings, if you're on safari. I use this password remember rather than roboform's own system as I find it much easier. 'save this password' when you type it in and it remembers it for you. If that makes sense?
Honestly, using a mac is so much easier than windows. You'll find you come to love it more. December Wins: £300 worth of board games, £500 Tesco Vouchers Best Win in 2023: £500 Tesco Vouchers0 -
Thanks very much nelie.
I am prompted to remember passwords when signing in, and have all my Roboform log ins printed out, and will do as you suggest.
Just wondering though about filling in forms, whether there is a quick way to do this.
I love my Macbook, it's a zippy little machine, and the touchpad does some amazing things, just need to become organised about using it most efficiently.
Really appreciate everyone's help.0 -
What do you mean about filling them in? If you click on your name on the roboform toolbar, then you can fill in the form in one click.
Is that what you meant? Once you get used to it, it will be better.December Wins: £300 worth of board games, £500 Tesco Vouchers Best Win in 2023: £500 Tesco Vouchers0 -
Thanks again nelie.
I didn't realise you could get the Robo toolbar. How do you do that?0
