HSBC bank charges

HSBC have been charging me £100 each month for going over my overdraft

    How has this affected the way in which you can cover priority debts such as rent/mortgage, electricity bills, water, council tax?

    Have you spoken to those providers for help if the above is true?

    What have you done to speak to the bank since clearly your outgoing exceed your income? Have you sat down and done an income and expenditure form because sometimes seeing the figures in front of you can help you to decide which of your outgoings can be foregone, for example, if you have cable tv then perhaps lowering it to their cheapest option may save money. Perhaps switching providers on utilities might make it cheaper for you.

    Have a look at all these things. Please remember that even stating to a bank that you are in financial hardship which is where I am going towards, does not necessarily mean that the bank have to refund charges but if you have done all of the above then they may consider this but only over the period of time in which you have experienced or are likely to remain in financial hardship.
