oil heating pipe

Sorry I don't know the right name for this, so I hope you know what I mean
The cover on the top of my oil heating pipe (chimney) has blown off. It blew off a long time ago and I still have the cover in the garage. Should it just be pushed on again or would screws need to be used to keep it from blowing off again?

So many had read I thought nobody was going to reply
Probably because nobody knows how it fits/ can't see what it looks like. So no one would want to say "yeah, just bung it back on" if it could block the flue and fill the garage with fumes etc.
A bit more info?0 -

Are they not all standard? It was pushed on before but eventually blew off again. The only other info I could give would be a photo I suppose.0 -

I read it yesterday and decided I didn't really understand it as written and by then I'd run out of guesswork bandwidth for the day anyway. So many had read I thought nobody was going to reply
A pic sounds an eminently sensible suggestion.

that's the boiler flue & terminal, yes it should be re-fitted, you should use a couple of screws to secure it, although from your 2nd pic it looks too close to the roof to meI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

Its been off for quite a while, would that have done any harm?
Its been there before that tiled roof was built and the builders just left it like that. They didn't say it needed a taller flue, no surprises there, they probably couldn't be bothered to change it0
