Wrong, claims of this nature are allocated to the higher court. You will need a solicitor and possibly even a barrister. You should win if your facts are correct, however if you lose you will have to pay all the landlord's expenses as well as your own.
thats not correct - I am currently taking my LL for not compling with the D.P.S and i raised a claim with the local county court. Therefore a solicitor or barrister is not needed.
Although you have to issue the claim under rule 8 of the C.P.R. if the claim uis disputed then it will be dealt with under rule 7 of the C.P.R.0 -

So if you like the property then keep quiet for the time being and when you do come to leave or the Landlord wants you to leave you can then break the Bad news
