Advice Needed - How best to get out of Hire Purchase Agreement

  • Thanks for your help guys. On reflection - it is my expectations that had changed. At the end of the day, I have use of a brand new car, at the value that I am paying for it, over 3 years is what it will lose.

The owners will then take it back at the value I give it back, so effectively, regardless of whether I like the deal or not, I am getting what I pay for. Its not the end of the world and next time I will get a car on a purchase only contract. Either way, getting brand new cars your tipping money down the drain really.

A lot of us knew that already. I have found that buying ex demonstrators has been the way to go in the past. I have had a lot more ex demo's than new cars over the years.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

    Yep.

People sit there and moan about the whole 'it loses £X thousand when you drive it off the forecourt' when in essence you could go find these cars and buy them for much less. Plenty of cars being sold with less than 15k on the clock (pretty much brand new) for any thousands cheaper. People have to have new stuff though.

I can agree with that. After years of buying 11 brand new cars, my current one is an ex demo.

I am currently looking for a new car and that one will be the same unless I find an amazing deal on a new one.
  • ex motabillity cars can be a good buy. They have all the service history are usually no more than 3 years old and some have very low mileage, also any chips dints etc are fixed before it goes on sale.
Wow, I got 3 *, when did that happen :j:T:p

  • I think my next car, albeit in a few years time will be a nearly new car. Watch this space...

I know it isn't money saving, but nothing beats the smell and feel of a brand new car - one that you can cherish from new.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

I agree which is why I had a fetish for them at one time - 3 in 2 years was my record.

With the current car, £6k more left in my bank account was better than the smell of a new car and it was only 3 months old with around 1200 miles.
