hi, i took a cash advance on my vanquis card for £200 occurring a £6 charge on 23rd july. my payment due date was 2nd aug so i paid the card of in full on 29th july. this was cleared in time but i was still charged £1.16 in interest for the cash advance.

my question is do you still get charged interest on a cash advance even if you pay the full balance of by the due date. (if so lesson learnt)

it was a 1 of advance as left my bank card at home by mistake and needed cash

Yes, cash advances do not have an interest free period and interest is charged immediately.

Yes

You can pay it off as soon as you get home, you don't have to wait until the statement, but you should wait until it shows up on your online transactions

and you will probably be charged a little more in your next statement which will be the interest between your last statement date and the day you actually paid off the debt.
