Nexus 7 boo Ebuyer BIG BOO Sumvision yeahhh
UnderPressure

Thought I would post my tablet experiences over the last 10 months to see if they are common to other people experiences, we bought 3 Nexus 7's last October, 1 for me (:) ) and 1 each for son and daughter for Christmas last year, my Nexus 7 lasted until February when I dropped it in the car, the distance it fell was literally 10cm but the very edge of it caught the gear stick and bam screen cracked, I did try to get a repair under warranty but it was another tough luck situation.
I then bought a 32gb replacement from Argos and was using that until last week, my sons that he got for Christmas all of a sudden stopped charging so after much complete NONSENSE from ebuyer it was returned under warranty, after 2 weeks I became victim to their VERY DODGY terms and condition on returns, they admitted there was a fault but because we had the tablet longer than 6 months we could only get a partial refund, although the tablet back in October cost £199 they would only refund £166 and a few pennies, the to add insult to injury I purchased them originally with a prepaid credit card an Orange cash 1 which had since expired and not been renewed so the only way they would issue the refund was to our ebuyer account hence the purchase of this Sumvision tablet.
In the meantime I had given the 32gb nexus I bought for me from argos to my son, within a couple of days it had stopped auto rotating so called Argos customer services they told me to take it to store, called in my local store within 5 minutes was walking back out of the door with a new one, bravo Argos for great customer service
The moral of the story BUY NOTHING FROM EBUYER! I certainly will never buy a thing from them again
So far as the Sumvision 10 inch quad core tablet it is fabulous, runs all of the high end stuff I had on my nexus with no lagging or any other issues, great size I do prefer the 10 inch to the 7 straight away, battery life is great I got it Wednesday it had a full charge then have used it for a few hours for the last 2 days playing games, watching vids, surfing, using bria voip phone and skype and so far it still has 62% battery left.
Really pleased with it, my nexus experience leads me to believe that maybe there is an issue with build quality in the first generation models, hopefully the newly released 2nd generation will be better.

Not dodgy at all, they are simply conforming to the SOGA, if it was within 6 months, then yes a full refund, but seeing as longer than 6 months, then onus is on you to prove the fault was there when you got the tablet. The ebuyer are only obliged to offer a partial refund, which is what happened.
As for adding insult to injury, it is your fault you did not renew your card, most if not all companies will refund to the same card. So your fault.
So moral of story is take responsibility for your faults.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
Customer service like this would never be experienced with the likes of Amazon or Argos to name 2, I have in the past returned items to both of these that were older than 6 months and on both occasions a replacement was received with no issues.
Regarding renewal of temporary cards the purchase was made 10 months ago is it reasonable to expect somebody to still be using the same payment methods they were 10 months ago? Not as far as I am concerned it is not you could have changed bank or anything in that amount of time, the customer service received by ebuyer from the very beginning was completely ridiculous, they did everything they could to save THEM time and money at the cost of what was a valuable customer, I have bought lots from them in this time so through there petulance over £33 or even a replacement tablet they have now lost a customer who would quite happily have spend a few thousand with them every year and gained an ex customer eho will quite happily bad mouth them now to all his friends, relatives and anyone else that will listen, take a look on Google Ebuyer have a TERRIBLE track record with customer service not just me. Just because something is legal does not make it moral!
I wonder if they will get a FULL credit from ASUS for the faulty tablet................"You can measure a man's character by the choices he makes under pressure"Sir Winston Churchill0 -
eBuyer are pretty competitive on price so the downside is that they seem to baulk on returns. If there is only minor difference in price I will always buy from Amazon for the superior delivery/returns.
I wonder if neilwoods has been a little harsh. I got a new debit card in March 2013 with a different number (same current account). So technically I am screwed for any purchases made before that date for refunds because the card no longer exists. The man without a signature.0 -
I bought a £2.99 wired mouse from eBuyer in June.
Last week the left mouse button stopped working, so I informed eBuyer via their 'note' system online. They got back to me saying no need to return the mouse, and they sent one next day via courier.
Can't ask for much more than that, Amazon style customer service in this case.0 -
Bit of a difference though in product and value? Do not think for 1 minute they have given you top rated customer servive, the reason they did not want it returning is because they pay for return courier so in this case it would have cost them more to get the item back than just forget about it, see even with this the decision was made not in the interest of the customer but in the interest of their bank balance this time grabbing pennies!
Of course there is nothing wrong with thinking about ones own profitability every business needs to do this but when has anyone had a product that has broken down within the first 12 months and then NOT had the product replaced? I wanted it replace and they refused and offered me this partial refund I can honestly say I have NEVER experienced this before with ANY retailer."You can measure a man's character by the choices he makes under pressure"Sir Winston Churchill0 -
Well I've used eBuyer since 2000 on and off and never had a problem with returns as I've never had to return anything (!). That cheap mouse is the only thing that required their customer service, and that was impeccable.
So for me I'll still use them in future if they're the cheapest for the item I'm after.0 -
You could have gone to Asus direct and got it repaired. The Nexus not charging or turning on seems to happen a lot, and Asus will pick it up from you, and normally send it back with a new mainboard about a week/10 days later.
I know that's moot now, and I'm glad you like the Sumvision tablet, but someone else might be in the same boat in the future. (Hi, future forum reader!)Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

I had this the other week and I got told about the hard reset and that didnt work but I gently prised off the back and found that the wire frmo the battery had come out slightly from the mother board so a quick push in and was up and running again no problem.one of the famous 5

Not at all, just because your card expired, your new card is still linked to your account. The op used a pre-paid card, which is more like a debit card, you put money in and then can only spend what you have on the card.
The idea behind all this, is to prevent fraud.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0
