Hi guys, I've been considering claiming ppi for awhile and today I just received a letter in the post from the bank saying I took a loan with them during a certain period and they supplied ppi forms.
I'm trying to work out if I have grounds for mis selling. I took a car loan for £7000 in 2008 (ended up repaying £9300 in total with interest and ppi) at the time I had just started working as a civil servant. I was in a permanent post but my first year was probationary and this was when i took out the loan so i dont think the insurance would have paid out should i not have been kept on at end of the year. Also being a civil servant im entitled to 6 months full pay and 6 months half pay should i fall ill. I did make clear my job and i was asked about sick benefits and i told them however i was told this was extra protection however i cant remember if these benefits are applicable in your first year.
Can anyone shed any light?

6 months full pay, 6 months half pay is a good reason for complaint with loan and credit card PPI (but not mortgage PPI). The probationary period is not a good reason but you dont need it anyway. The fact it was single premium and added to debt and charged interest on is another good reason.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
