Huge switch ( energy helpline.com) cash back problem!

We followed advice from best switch deals on Martin Lewis advice email, and switched to British gas as we has pre payment meters and the offer looked great £90 cash back when you switch, so we switched through huge switch ( energy helpline.com )and all went smoothly, we were promised £65 after 6-8 weeks of going live, then the rest after a year we were happy with this but the time lapsed still no cheque! We phoned several times each time they said cheque was on its way etc then yesterday we were told that no money can be paid out as cash back as British gas have not given u switch the cash back money so they cannot pay the customer! What a rip off we only switched because of the incentives and now nothing! We have emails all saying about the great cash back and when we are going to recieve cheques etc! We feel totally conned beware of these offers as they are not always what they seem:(

As MSE Martin also says, cashback from third parties is not guaranteed until it lands in your bank account, so don't base your switching decision on possible cashback alone, but feel pleased if the money does eventually land in your bank account.

I have had the same trouble with this
I suggest that we all get together and write to BBC WATCHDOG
These sites are ripping people off
I have been in touch with British Gas and they say that never had such an offer for pse pay customers.

What a load of rubbish you write Wywth!
Just be pleased if the money lands on your mat.
What is that supposed to mean? When one enters into an agreement with these companies then the cashback should be paid.
As for you gushing about Martin has told people about this etc
Get real, it is MSE that recommended the deal in the first place, MSE are as responsible as energyline.com for this rip-off. They are all making their bit of money on these deals. MSE aren't giving anything for nothing!

Wywth isn't writing rubbish. Cashback from a third party site isn't legally guaranteed, but by all means complain to Watchdog etc.

Have you switched to a tariff with a lock in period? If not, you're free to switch and try another deal. As has been posted above, cashback is never guaranteed. In five years of using cashback sites, I've had maybe two or three transactions fail to pay up - hundreds more have.

I have had the last laugh though, after threats of court action and Watchdog I got a £90 cheque within two days.
Stewie I sent you a private message explaining how to get the money that you are owed. Take no notice of these people who post rubbish about not getting your money
You have just got to let these companies that you won't give up.
