Novice question here but if I pre order now I am guessing no payment will be taken until the item is shipped?

I am torn between ordering via play or amazon, any suggestions?

I've order mine and a copy of Watch Dogs through Amazon and it won't charge me for either until they're shipped (I'm guessing around Nov 26th/27th). But if you preorder now it's really really unlikely you'll get it on release day. I think their second wave is being planned for the day after release though so may only get it one day late...

Amazon and Play are the same price for the consoles but Amazon is beating them on game prices (Watch Dogs is £47 on Amazon, £55 on Play). Plus I'm not sure on Plays policy but if you preorder with Amazon now, if the price goes any lower before dispatch then you'll be charged the lowest possible price.

Just pre ordered via Amazon and estimate of delivery date regarding the PS4 is to be confirmed via email ASAP

Games are certainly cheaper too

Yeah although I wasnt being standoffish or anything.

As for Play, arent they just like a 3rd party entity now? They dont actually sell stuff themselves anymore, they just work like Amazon marketplace (for example)

Yes I think your right, when I was looking at ordering the PS4 it stated it comes from another source and not directly from Play

I have pre ordered with Amazon

Sony has been holding off pre-orders to make sure they have enough consoles available at the shops on launch day.



If it's important to get it on launch day, suggest pre-ordering from at least one place for now. HUKD seems to suggest gameseek and simply games as places for good bargains.

I believe people are selling their 'pre-orders' on ebay. Not sure if that's allowed by ebay policies though.

BTW i have preordered from more than one site, will cancel one of the two - depending on what else they offer closer to delivery date.
