My hubbie asked me to pre order PS4 ages ago and I never got round to it. Now they are all saying that orders after 6th August may not be received until after the release date, but there may be cancellations. Do you think there is many people who have pre-ordered from more than one site so there maybe some cancellations. Am having a mild panic as his birthday is in December.....

Who knows?! I'm sure some people may have ordered on multiple sites, maybe some more stock orders may become available or production increased, maybe some people will switch to XBox One. If you want one, stick an order in with a reputable well run supplier (Amazon, Game, HMV) and see. The longer you wait the further down the list you'll be even if you have to wait a week. And I can't believe you never ordered one, I'd be LIVID!!!!! Only kidding
Demand is strong so if you want one I wouldn't wait longer, you may get lucky.

Well if you can't get it on launch, there is an upside.... just watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rIJmGj4g-s0

I've pre ordered at a few places too. Just waiting for the best offer/bundles before I decide who to go with.0

I've never seen point in pre ordering but Im not one of those 'have to have it on day' as above...waiting for the right bundle package to get the best deal rather then be stuck for one place.People don't know what they want until you show them.0

I was considering per-ordering but seeing that games are retailing at £55, I may pass.0

Don't pre-order with GAME though. They're good at not filling pre-orders0

Amazon weren't pricing them accurately until they had more info. If you check it out now they're at a reasonable level (~£55).
As for not pre-ordering already it's unlikely you'll get it on release day. Look at past Xbox / Playstation launches. I pre-ordered a 360 and had it on release but when I saw the prices on eBay (more than double) I decided to sell. It was weeks later until I was able to get another.0 -
I know if you try and pre-order a PS4 on Amazon now, they tell you not to expect it until mid-late December, if you pre order it after August 6th.Knowledge is a tool, and like all tools, its impact is in the hands of the user.0

Im not bothering with pre ordering until im sure its a PS4 I want (im still torn between PS4 and the Xbox One). Im hoping if I wait a while after launch the price might come down (wishful thinking) a bit, more bundles will be announced and I might get the chance to try both consoles out.0
