A friend has asked me to find out where they stand on this.
They did there monthly rent payment at a local shop. The method they do the payment is the shop first take the payment via chip and pin then Though there own tills then they take the paypoint card and load it up with the amount.
But what's happend they have massively under charged on there tills but loaded the paypoint card right.
They didn't realise at first but noticed a couple days later there mistake.
Question is where do they stand regarding this, the shop has noticed the error and contacted them but should they have to pay up because of there error?

Yes...if he refuses to pay up I don't imagine the shop will want to do any more business with your friend. Is there another paypoint nearby? The shop can also take your friend to court to recover the money.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

in legal terms this is an "unjust enrichment".
he is not allowed to benefit from it

You should have checked the receipts they give you before leaving the shop !
Contact PP see what they say http://www.paypoint.co.uk/contact-us
