A seven seater for a week from Enterprise (where I hire from) costs around £330.

Is the option of repairing your car not available in time?

Bad luck, although better than the turbo failing while on holiday I guess.

Where are you going on holiday? Hiring will be presumably be more complicated if you're going abroad, and you may want to check for any mileage limits.

    Hi

Im going to have to scrap / sell mine for parts as it one thing after the other unfortunatly.

Im staying within the uk - Norfolk - so think i will have a try at some local firms.

I did make a few calls but 7 seaters were coming out at £300 + and the holiday was only £350!

Do you usually drive a 7 seater, or is it a 'one off' need for the holiday?

I am assuming your current car is a 7 seat model?

If so, and you are going to have to buy one, you may as well just find a new car to buy and put the ~£300 towards it.

There are some well priced Kia Caren's 7 seaters out there, and they tend to be reliable. If you can find a late 2008 onwards one it will still have some manufacturers warranty left too (5 years or even 7 years in total depending on when it was registered).
And that my son, is how to waft a towel!

There's a car hire deal on groupon at the moment which might save you some money. Can't post a link as I use the gron ipad app.
