Small Hypnotherapy business wanting to accept cards online - what is cheapest?

Hi I use paypal at the moment to accept payments by credit or debit card for Hypnotherapy services - but they seem to charge a lot for the service with the added hassle that I have to go to the site to withdraw the money to my bank account - for instance for a payment of £350 they charged me £12! I don't use it that often so a monthly fee wouldn't be a good option.

Is there a safe hassle free way of putting a button on my website that will take a credit or debit card payment and transfer it into my bank at low cost?

Generally I encourage cash or cheque - but even cheques are a hassle with barclays now taking FIVE days to clear it - I see no good reason for that! Why can't they input it at the bank and the money be transferred straight over?

I'm slightly confused by the cash or cheque comment. Do you actually offer your service online or not? If you offer it in-store you may be better off looking at iZettle.
