Can anyone tell me if it is written in stone that CSA payments are due from the time the NRP receives the assessment forms?

Are there any circumstances when this would not be the case?

Many thanks

The assessment is from the date of the MEF letter.
If the accused NRP turns out not to be the Father then that would not be the case.

Thank you, so if all is as should be re parentage etc, it is ALWAYS payable from the date of the MEF ?

Providing of course it is not a nil assessment .

As I understand then yes, the date of my MEF letter was a good 5 months from when I started paying, obviously by the time the schedule arrived there were arrears, but cleared in 18 months.

Yes, the MEF issue date sets the effective date - why do you ask?

Thanks, the reason i am asking is i had an open case, CSA closed it last July because they had made a major error and i had to apply again, the forms were sent out in July 2012, they messed about and finally got an assessment in February this year, but they insist there are no arrears! I was sure it was payable from July/August.

Just wanted to be sure of my facts before getting my Mp back on the case.

Does he have a case with another PWC? If he did, your case against him would have a future date............the first payday following the date of calculation aligned with the existing case.

No, no others, this is the only case against him.

That is the only scenario I can think of which would use a different effective date than MEF issue. What date does your assessment start from?

The letter i have in front of me is dated the 18/2/2013 and first payment date is 28/2/2013 , it says arrears due to you £0.00.

The old case was closed abruptly at end of June last year, then i had to reapply and new MEF sent out end of July, i would have to search for the paperwork if you need more info!
