in Credit cards
Have a Vanquis card, first CC for 8 years after Bancruptcy, discharged 4 years now.
Credit file still a mess, lot of creditors included in the B/order still there, number of defaults for mobuile phones, utilities etc that my ex ran up a few years ago,a couple of settled court orders. am going to get my !!!! in gear and sort it out soon.
Applied succesfully for a vanquis card 16 months ago, have ran it well, had 2 credit increases up to £1500 now.
5 months ago applied and got turned down for JD williams, Capitol one, and Aqua in that order.
Question is what card should i go for next, with a view to credit rebuilding, cash amounts not too important as i have a well paid Job, with zero debt at the moment, and any credit can be paid in full each month.

Firstly, I would concentrate on sorting out your credit files before you apply for anymore credit. How come you havent done this yet? Once all your defaults are marked as settled or satisified, I dont see a reason why you won't get an Aqua or a Capital one card. I was BR in Sept 2011 and discharged 2012. I hold an Aqua, capital one and a Vanquis. The Aqua I got in April.

I didnt sort it out because i was determined never to have any credit again, however after a few years i have realised its worth doing i cant currently get a mobile contract even.
I havent really done anything with my file since i was discharged, still have defaults with Welcome finance and the like.
I will take your advice and not apply for anything, as i dont actually need credit, and sort out my file.
was looking at long term taking a mortgage out and letting as i have a lot of spare income, and need to invest in something as im just spending too much each month simply because its there.0
