Invitation to office interview

Hi, I just received a letter stating the following:

We need to see you in order to discuss the benefit we are currently paying you. We need to ensure your payments are correct and it is essential that you attend this interview to discuss the matter.

You should note that where there is doubt about whether the conditions for entitlement are met, we can suspend payment of your benefit.

Bit worried by this as I haven't done anything for them to question. Last month i received a letter from the LHA asking whether someone else was living with me that i hadn't told them about. I replied to this telling them no.

Any advice with this would be greatly appreciated as its the last thing i need to be worrying about.

Thanks

The letter i received was from DWP and i currently receive IB ESA and higher rate of mobility and care DLA. The letter i got last month from LHA was for HB and CTB
  • More than likely just a routine check, if you live alone and are not claiming for anyone else, don't worry.

Have you any ex hubbys/wife/partners who may still be using your address for bank accounts or anything like that?

I live with my wife and 2 children and have always been living with them. When the LHA sent their letter they named a person i have never heard of and said they were told that they were living here.
  • It's probably because of that then, LHA and DWP inform each other of changes or potential changes to benefit claims.

Don't worry about it, someone has got wires crossed somewhere, or someone has made a malicious claim maybe, all you can do is wait and see what they say.
