I always shop in the British Heart Foundation, I get my DD all her next clothing from them. I refuse to pay the price that Next charge. I have not bought myself any thing yet but I need some new clothes so will have to go for a nosey.
Have to say though I have seen the workers grabbing all the best things before any one else.
I have got some nice things though, I love to have a good nosey. I did stop once as my sister kept taking the mick and telling me to go to Primark. Yack.
Dnt know if it is just me but I like worn clothes they feel so much better than ones full of shop startch. Wins in 09 = A vodka cocktail kit thing lol, £150 Amazon voucher.0 -
Since I decided to stop buying made in China, charity stores have been particularly useful. Not just for second hand items, but also for certain new ones. Most relevantly at this time of year as somewhere to buy UK printed Christmas cards, which can be surprisingly difficult to find elsewhere.
Although I really appreciate the money savings, charity stores and the reasons why people shop in them aren't all about money. They're a good alternative to other shops, and it's nice being able to support charity.0 -
a small town were i work in East Lothian has 6
charity shops which have a got sellection of next,
per una , wallis, etc loads of books- in fact a well
known crime writer was on BBC Scotland a few months
ago complaining about all the charity shops selling his books
he was claiming they had closed the local book shop but what
closed the local shop was the fact they kept their books wrapped
and took 5 to 10 days too get a book ordered in- most people commute
into the city by train so where able to buy books in the station the
town is far from being poor and could afford a more modern bookshop
with a coffee shop etc but maybe Mr Quentin Jardine was more worried
about is royalities he lives in the next village0 -
I love to rummage in charity shops only last week me and my mum bought couple of books and a hand bag each. Its so much fun! I don't tell many people that I go into charity shops as they would look down on me thinking I was scum of the earth, hey we don't all have money to burn but if they say "oh i like that" I will happily tell them where I got my bargin.Love a charity shop bargain0

Why would people think you're scum of the earth to buy in charity shops? Don't think anyone has looked down on me getting things from there and I'm always proud of my bargains
I love going into the shops over hereFluttering about an inch off the ground, I may fly properly one day and soar in the clouds!

Adrossan in Ayrshire has a wee local charity shop and the treasures found in there are incredible. I took a friend who is on benefits there last week and she got any 10 items for a fiver. She could only find 9 so she bought me a top lol. I found a real Armani dress jacket for my husband in a charity shop in Saltcoats. Would not expect to find Armani in Saltcoats but you never know your luck. Anyone got any other favs in Ayrshire, Renfrewshire, Innverclyde?0
