PPI paid to aviva

Hi, I was hoping someone could clear something up for me, I just received a letter from my bank informing me they had upheld my complaint and as such owe me £1300 as the insurance was to some degree not suitable but the insurance did pay out when I had a life changing accident and paid off the loan to the sum of £2800 so that has been deducted from the amount owed, leaving me with nothing, this does sound right to me but I just wanted to be sure that this is how it should be done , thanks in advance for any help.

Yes it's right. If you make a claim your redress is subtracted from the amount of a successful claim.

They put you back in the position had you not taken PPI, basically you benefited from the PPI that feel you shouldnt have been sold to the tune of £2800 and they owe you £1300, so its quits.

Unless, of course, you want to pay them the difference of £1,500 back.
