We are heading to the Autumn so this does not surprise me at all. Energy companies have been putting up bills in the Autumn for the winter for many years. It also does not surprise me at all to note in the report how much the profits the energy suppliers make have increased too over the last 3 years.

These sort of increases can't continue for ever or soon very few people will be able to afford energy. Also interesting to note in the report, the 11 per cent hike Npower have made to the Standing Charge. This does not surprise me at all, I suspected once they introduced this charge on all tariffs it would become a cash cow (if it's not already). These charges should be abolished or set by the regulator.

Love it. August is always a slow news month, so what better than an advert to use a comparison site dressed up as a news article.

    3 guesses ... but I bet you'll only need 1
