I was in a five star hotel a few months ago, the place was clearly too good for me.

You can can be almost certain that the first thing to happen will be ICH will ditch their "Best Rate Guarantee"

I can not believe the lack of interest in this!
This has been blatant price fixing, while IHC Group have been promoting a best rate guarantee that has been ni on impossible to claim on (in the UK anyway)
Yet even after being exposed, same 3 companies are still at it!

If I cant find a hotel for the right price, I move on and search elsewhere. I might have to drop from a Hotel to a B&B, or even dig out the old tent.

Why pay £80 for a hotel room, when I can pay £10 to camp, which leaves me £70 for beer. After £10 of beer, I wont really care where I sleep, nor feel the difference. I'll be pretty dead until 8am..
