Even just stating 'steam code used' would be shakey ground in my opinion. I don't think it would be fair to assume the consumer knows what steam is or what can and can't be done without a steam code.0

Not usable in the slightest.
The disk is not even needed for a steam game. It just speeds things up installing it. You enter the steam code and the game will download. I would not be suprised if steam games stop supplying a disk at all.
In fact the only reason to buy a boxed copy is if it is cheaper than it is on steam (or you like boxes).0 -
I'd be very surprised if Amazon don't refund this. Out of interest was this a private seller on Marketplace? (I know it's not easy to tell, but is their feedback a low number with only a few products on?)
Keep us updated as to what Amazon say.0 -

Just reject the product under the Distance Selling Regulations.0

I'm not a gamer either, but I am pretty sure you can use the game without the steam code - google this. I think I remember the same thing happening to a friend, and I think there are guides on google on how to install the game from disk only, without using steam.0

Amazon will refund, just pursue that route..0

No you cant, if its a steamworks game, then it'll only run via steam, and will only work if you have a valid code to use it.
Football Manager is a steamworks game, and as a result only runs via steam.
The game wont run because usually there is no executable to actually run, this is not on the disk and must be downloaded via steam (done automatically when activated).
You should never buy any used steamworks games, they will never work. If you want football manager cheap, wait for one of the big steam sales, you will likly get it alot cheaper than the Used one. Unfortuatlly you have just missed the summer one, the next one will be around halloween or thanksgiving time. Will defiantly be cheap during the Christmas sale0
