Similar phone/camera ?

I witnessed my son-in-law using an iphone4s yesterday and was impressed that he could take repeated photo's without waiting for the phone/camera to go through the motions of saving etc.

I was wondering if there are any other phone/camera's that do the same, but less expensive. I have a sim only card with orange/ee using their dolphin account.

Had a look on google and found lots of comparsison reviews of phone cameras - unfortunately all of the ones I looked at are high price end of the market

When you take a photo the camera dumps it into a temporary store, it is then saved from there (in slower time) into the camera's main memory. The temporary store will only hold a certain number of photographs before it has to stop taking in new ones - until it has made space by storing the earlier ones.
A bigger store means extra cost, unfortunately. And of course, all the phone manufacturers keep putting higher pixel count cameras in their phones - which, if they don't increase the temporary store size will slow the process down even more.
