    To confirm that the adress is your router (not that it really matters now),

    Click Start - Run
    Type cmd (press enter)
    Type ipconfig (press enter)

    If the default gateway address is 192.168.1.1 then it is your router.

    192.168.1.1 is the specific IP address that you can assign as trusted, however as your internal network is your own and managed by you, you can add the entire network by using the address 192.168.1.0 (i.e. everything on the subnet)

    No performance issues but there is no point having the firewall keep alerting you of safew activity, you only want 'real' alerts otherwise you may become complacent to warnings.

    here is the result from run cmd ipconfig


    ip address 192.168.1.2

    default gateway 192.168.1.1

    by the way when i typed the run cmd command a window appeared from which i type ipconfig etc. how do i close it? do i type bye, exit, logout or simply click on the cross?
    Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems :( Well at least i learn something on the way :D

    This confirms the router is the address in question.
    the cross (as alread mentioned) or type exit
