Having an issue with a credit card transfer

Hi there!
I applied for a balance transfer from my Lloyds credit card, to my new Nationwide card. It's kind of turned into a nightmare really, and I'm not really sure what to do.
I applied for the balance transfer on July 17th. It was accepted (eventually!) and I was a happy boy as it mean't saying goodbye to LLOYDS and their ridiculous level of interest and saying hello to 20 months interest free balance transfer with Nationwide.
Except now, I'm wondering if I've a HUGE mistake. I've had all sorts of problems with Nationwide.
*Applying on the website, it didn't recognise my card details despite the card being listed as one they accept.*
*They had to send a cheque off to LLOYDS in the end*
Calling them on high rate numbers to sort out the issues I'm having. As of August 9th...my Lloyds credit card account is still showing that I owe them the money I wanted transferred over to Nationwide. Nationwide are telling me they've paid the money! End result:
I HAVE TWO CREDIT CARD DEBTS. I have checked my credit file with Experian only to find my credit rating has taken a nosedive. Nationwide now refuse to answer my emails and the only way I can talk to somebody is to phone their high cost phone line as staff in my local Nationwide just refer me to call their call centre.
I don't know what to do. I feel that no one from Nationwide wants to help me. The stress of this is making me highly anxious. If anyone has any advice, it would be gratefully received!!!!!!!!
Thank you!:)

When do Nationwide say the cheque was sent? Why did they even send a cheque rather than do a BACS/ Faster Payment transfer? According to Nationwide has the cheque been cashed yet?
Ignore the credit rating rubbish. Banks only give info the CRAs once a month and often its a good few weeks out of date by the time its processed by them and the CRA so I am surprised by your second comment. Of cause some will always be unlucky and have both banks report in the window where one has made the payment but the other hasnt processed it yet. If yours is taking longer as its done by cheque rather than electronic payment then inevitably the chances were a little higher of it happening.0 -
Can you find a branch of Nationwide that has an internal phone for customers to use? I'm sure a lot of banks and building societies have such an arrangement.WorriedinMuswellHill wrote: »...the only way I can talk to somebody is to phone their high cost phone line as staff in my local Nationwide just refer me to call their call centre. Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??

If you've taken on a new credit agreement your credit rating will dip a little, but it should recover in a few months.
