B&q kitchen fitting

Having paid cash for a kitchen with fitting from b&q with a two year warranty im still having problems nearly two years later due to the bad fitting service that initially fitted it. Yes they have come out each time ive reported a problem within the 2 yr warranty and there have been at least seven visits that have ranged from finishing the badly finished floor to virtually having one half of my kitchen changed all due to the initial fitter that was obviously not worth the £3300.00 it cost for the service. The fitting company have given me an extended 5 yr warranty as I complained about the poor service. But I have no faith in the fitting service that b&q provided and would rather them not touch the kitchen any longer as it feels like ive been having my kitchen fitted for 2 years !! I am looking into getting my money back for a service that cost more than the kitchen ! appauling

If this is a question rather than a vent, then no, you are not entitled to your money back as they are dealing with any problems as the arise.

so they are upholding your consumer rights.

The kitchen fitting is a service rather than a product, so it's covered by the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982. This states "...the supplier will carry out the service with reasonable care and skill." It would appear that, given the number of remedies required, this has not been the case.

    You have two options:

    1. Allow them to keep fixing the faults

    2. Seek a partial refund of the money paid. This will reflect the difference between what you paid for and what you got, or the cost to put everything right. It is unlikely to be a full refund. It may take court action for this, and you will need to obtain quotes for putting right anything else needed.

Why do so many complainers seem to have a problem spelling "appalling"?

The problem with criticising spelling is you only have to look through complainers posts to spot their spelling mistakes within seconds .......eg
    " genaration"..:D

Why do so many posters try to police the forum of its grammar and spelling?
  • Hi

I had a kitchen fitted by B&Q which was a complete nightmare from start to finish. It took them nearly a year and a half to sort it after faulty parts and generally making a mess of it. I complained and complained and complained. After much time I finally got a refund of my fitting costs and just paid for the kitchen itself. As good as this was to get my money back, I still hate my kitchen as it was not done to how I asked. :(
