Registered bank account address for tax credits

Can anyone help. My ex is having their tax credit paid into our joint bank account at an address they have never lived at. We have been trying for the past eight years to get them to stop using the account or take the account over and register it to their address but they don't seem willing to do so. I cannot close the account or change the address as it is a joint signature account.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Withdraw the money when it comes in to the account, your ex will soon get fed up of being skint and change accounts.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

Once it's in the joint account it's as much your money as his. Spend it ;-) You've warned him enough times not to use it so he will soon get the message!0
