SKY router and making my PC wireless

Hi guys couple of quick questions for you knowledgable lot.
I would like to make my PC operate wirelessly.
I have a Sky Sagemcom router(black & silver) -how can I tell if it is G or N so I can but a compatible wireless card for my PC?

Also,in my router settings what 'mode' should my setting be on?
I only seem to have G settings or Auto and its on Auto.

Thanks as always

And leave the mode on auto.

The only thing you might want to change in wireless settings is channel to 1 or 11 if the wireless range is poor.

Wireless protocol is backward-compatible anyway. An 'N' router will work with a 'G' wireless card (but at 'G' speeds only of course).
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
