Hi
Tomorrow morning I am travelling from Maidstone in Kent to Guildford. I will take the M26, onto the M25, then junction 10 onto the A3 to Guildford. Does anybody know of any traffic issues I will encounter. I've heard some stories about the traffic at the moment & am a bit concerned.
Thank you so much in advance

About 10 miles of roadworks.
No hard shoulder so a minor dink or breakdown can cause serious delays.0 -
It always crawls in "rush hour" clockwise in the mornings and anticlockwise in the evenings on the southern section so you'll be on it at just the wrong time for your journey. It'll be the same from the M23 round via Leatherhead and the A3 to Heathrow too. Frankly its a bit of a lottery - it can turn itself into the biggest circular car park in the world at the drop of a pin at any time of day. About the only time you can 100% guarantee tyo zoom straight round is 2am!
If you find you are queuing when entering the M26 is best to get off at the A20 junction and drop down to the A25, go along to Sevenoaks and then stay on the A25 through Westerham and Oxted. If you leave it until the M25/M26 Junction you are stuck on the M25 until Godstone which is sixteen miles from the exit point you've already passed. There is no clockwise exit at the A21.
If you get on the A25 at any point you can stay on it via Redhill and Reigate (which will also be chokka at rush hour) and Dorking right through to Shere and there you can take the A 248 straight down into Guildford.
Its going to be a pain whatever you do I'm afraid so leave yourself plenty of time.
Sorry not to be the bearer of better tidings.

If you have google maps turn on the traffic option before you leave home ( or on phone en route ) and then look at alternative routes.
