Both my local pubs do it and I 've done it in other pubs as well.
A pint is say £3.50. the pub will charge me £53.50., and hand me back £50. I thought this was common practice ?
I'm aware Tesco's do not allow this, but I've never had any problems doing it in a pub. Some of them will allow it on my BA Amex as well.:j0 -

This whole cashback from pubs thing does seem commonplace.
Of course, it isn't cashback at all, they put the whole transaction through as a purchase as the PDQ machine won't allow them to specify cashback on a CC; it isn't possible.
I do wonder how they do the books though as their PDQ machine will indicate £50 (or however much) of purchases, but the till won't.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
