For others who have replied, I have checked my eligibility for PiP and there is a chance I will get the daily living component but it's a mental health issue and we all know how hard it can be to "prove" you really do need the help.........

I currently receive HRC for severe mental health issues - been like that since mid 90's. Have been sectioned in the past and am a long term patient of the Community Mental Health Team.

I also receive HRM due to the many physical disabilities that mean that I cannot walk 50 metres.

Yet after looking at the PIP descriptors - I find that it is extremely unlikely that I will qualify for anything!

Good luck if you believe that you are bucking the trend.

Thank you! I had confirmed this elsewhere too but you've explained it clearly for me.

For others who have replied, I have checked my eligibility for PiP and there is a chance I will get the daily living component but it's a mental health issue and we all know how hard it can be to "prove" you really do need the help. However, my doctor is incredibly supportive and fighting my corner. Somewhat irrelevant to my question given all I needed to know was the above but now the nosy parkers can satisfied and make their own judgements as to my need for state assistance.

It must also be noted my sarcasm and tolerance to people is also severely diminished at the moment, hence my being a bit snippy........

SSP is paid for 26 weeks after which you become eligible for ESA. It will be contribution based if sufficient contributions and if not then income based. After approx 13 weeks you will be assesed as to which group (if any) you are eligible.

Why jump in to a post when it was clearly written in reply to someone else's post?
You didn't feature in the discussion.

Besides which you offer no advice or opinion - simply, it seems, that you don't approve of me writing a post?

To be fair, what you posted was as irrelevant to my question as the post directed at you. I didn't ask about PiP, SSP, IS, ESA or any other benefit. I just wanted to clarify one small point in HB eligibility I couldn't quite get clear in my head.

Everything else I have been able to fully research (although not always fully understanding) myself.

Such is the nature of a public forum.

Titles are just a guide to content, my post asked about their relationship to HB allowances. No more, no less.

But as I said, it's a public forum and by its nature things will off track quite easily.
