Student accommoation trap - help!!!

I don't think that means much, I never signed anything for my accommodation just ticked an I agree to the T&Cs box. I think the only things I signed was a register to say I'd picked up my key and the thing where you write down any existing damage in the room.
I'm the same, the only thing I signed was for my key to say I'd received it and there was/wasn't existing damage to my room. I applied for my accommodation online (no signing or box to write my name as a signature) and paid my deposit by phone. Once I'd paid that deposit I couldn't not have my room, they told me at the time.0
