  • cyber bullies should be procesucted. the same as if you racially abuse some one online. if you drive some one to kill themselves then they should expect manslaughter charges, that would help stop it.

If face book does nothing they they should be procesuted for neglegence. they have the power but like people have said choose not to.

Most of the aggro they cause is with teenagers and usually girls so if the lower age limit for these sites was higher, at least 16 and probably 18 that would cut a lot of it out. They are also the main group that appear not to report it so having something in place to deal with reports wouldn't make a difference in many of those cases.

I completely agree - the bullies should be traced and prosecuted for manslaughter/murder or whatever it is called these days. Let them live knowing they killed someone! Some of these kids need brought down a peg or two before they get worse!

The problem with that is teenagers lie about their age to obtain accounts and unless parents are hyper-vigilant with computer/phone usage there isn't much that can be done

I have never heard of ASK.fm so I just googled it to get a better understanding of the thread.

I am so shocked by what I have found. I went on the site and then clicked on the first photo at the bottom of the page and found this - (link removed incase trolls see it and cause more harm)

By the time you get to the 7th or 8th post this poor teenage girl has basically been told she is ugly, fat, and people want her dead. There are also a lot of nice posts, but it will be the bad posts that probably stay on her mind and affect her self esteem.

    So sad.

No wonder there is a rise in eating disorders among the young! It said on the news a few days ago that the bullies who caused that young girl's suicide will be traced - I hope they are and are given the shock of their lives!

The topic was being discussed on This Morning last week too. This woman said that she had spoken to teenagers who had been involved in such cyber bullying and they described it as like being in an armed ring surrounding a victim. If everyone in the ring shoots together then no one knows whose bullet killed the victim so no one will need to live with the guilt of knowing they had killed the victim! So in other words - if loads of cyber bullies are posting nasty comments aimed at one poor victim, and then the victim commits suicide, then none of the bullies will ever know if it was their comment that finally pushed the victim over the edge! Very sad and in fact very frightening! If young kids can think along those lines at such a young age, just what will they be capable of when they are adults!

I had never seen the site, followed the link and browsed around a bit.

Looks like the site is a cesspit full of filth with children/adults picking open wounds while swimming in it.

A minimum age of 18 enforced by a requirement for proof of age (valid debit card details etc) is the very least that should happen. Then any minors found on the site should result in the site facing fines etc like off licences for selling to underage children.

Still feels like my skin is creeping, just vile.
