I'm also very fond of this website.

I'd personally reccomend www.5gbfree.com as they seem to be no bother at all. Ad Free too!

Thanks timothyw9, Ive just signed up for this.

If you are happy with the service, you can donate something or host google or amazon ads. Ill probably sling them $10 or $20 and host my own adsense, potentially worth a lot more

I think they use Hostgator servers. I had a $10 pm Baby croc acc with about 10 domains pointing to it. Very good value for money and support (hostgator that is) I notice that 5gbfree have special, discounted rates for premium hosting- is that for the first month only ? must be , hostgators affiliate scheme pay $50 per sign up.
(they are due me $150, dont know if Ill to see it, as I cancelled my hosting:confused:)

Terry, Why would anybody just buy hosting off you ? even at $1.99 per month? You are a reseller. Theres thousands doing it. You have to give EXTRA over and above the quid a month !

All these FREE hosts want people to buy something too. What they do is give FREE hosting to suck people (like me) in, hoping to sell add ons, upgrades or if happy(see above post) donate something.

    Its a numbers game mate.

There is Ecosse.net - it's another dial-up ISP based in Scotland, but they offer 50mb webspace as long as you dial-up on a reasonably regular basis - and there are no locks on ftp so if you have broadband with another ISP you can still send stuff up.
Pretty reliable and (on those rare occasions when I have had to contact their helpdesk) friendly.
    Au Res.,

erm, who said i was a reseller?

im a division of vlexo, so i have root access to all the servers....and what do you mean numbers?

Oh, and people would buy off me because i offer a lot of scripting features, that free hosts wont provide...such as perl, tomcat, ruby on rails....also i dont oversell any space. And i offer cpanel 11.

    Anyway, not getting off topic.....

    -Terry

So you are a reseller of vlexo ? or an affiliate ? You either own your own servers or you are a RESELLER
is that not what I said ?

What I suggest you do is sell on ebay at 50p per month (ebay special) paid in advance ie £6 or 75p per week monthly. Thats the max youll get. I really wish you well, honest I love entrpenuers oops spelling mistake.Use google as a FREE spell checker.
Or look at what all the FREE web hosts are doing. DO MORE, GIVE MORE.
Thats why its a "numbers game" they give for free, maybe just 5% will sign up for premium services
