this is a bridge camera - I have one try asking on this forum for advice
I have not had an issue with this but I do leave a uv filter on it on all times as well and keep it securely in a lowpro bag when not in use.....bit ocd about it.

I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.
  • Looking at the camera on Amazon, it is 30X zoom and has a large amount of lens travel when zooming. Almost guaranteed to suck in huge amounts of dust..................

I suspect they will simply clean it for you. It is a fiddly job but not a hard one.

As I and the poster above say, because the lens travels a lot when zooming its going to always be prone to this. You can partially reduce the risk by zooming in as slowly as possible as this will reduce the vacuum effect.

A UV or Skylight filter is sensible on any camera but it will not help with this issue as the dust will be predominately getting into the camera through the gap between the two halves of the lens
