Need advice on getting paid in US Dollars!!!

HI i have a UK Current account with Barclays, i am now working away and will be getting paid in US $$$, my question is how will that work in my current account i.e getting charged fees for exchanging $ to £?
Will i get charged a poor exchange rate on the total being paid in or do i pay a fee on the charge for exchanging the money?
Also is there a better Barclays account to pay my $$$'s into so i get maybe a better exchange rate or less fees on my money?
Any helo would be greatly appreciated....

Ask your UK bank for a US Dollar account.

If the USD are wired directly to your UK account, the rate is usually pretty bad.

To get the most £££s for your dollars, you could use an international money transfer specialist and have the US Dollars transferred to their Client US Dollar account, they can then convert the USD into Sterling at much better rates than the banks. They will always let you know the rate before converting the USD to Sterling,(if you do it through your bank, you wont know what rate the bank have given you until you check your bank statement).
