Aqua

I closed a credit card with Aqua in Jan 2013 showing as settled. I have checked my Equifax and Callcredit files and the account is now showing as being re-opened (August CRA update). The account is still showing as settled with Experian.

Anyone else has similar experience. In the meantime I have requested Equifax and Callcredit to contact Aqua to mark account settled again.

Thanks

Maybe a continuous credit card authority has claimed a payment....? Does the balance show as zero still (this would be my major concern)....?

There was no continuous payment set up on that card, the balance is still zero.

Have a look at the account number in the account on the CRA and compare it with your card number. I think you'll find that on the new account in the CRA, three numbers have been added to the end of the card number.

Both Capital One and Aqua appended the three numbers to increase security and the method used was to remove existing accounts in the CRAs and start new ones.

That's probably why your previously settled account has gone and a new account appeared in its place. Perhaps it will be changed at the next update or contact Aqua or if you then get no joy raise an objection with the CRA.
