So is it 35" or 50%?

Sorry, I'll amend that and thanks for pointing it out. I'm looking at figures from two different studies here. Women is >35" and men >40" :)

  • What would cause me to die of a heart attack or stroke?

Numerous things! Did you have anything particular in mind?

    Risk Factors
    High blood pressure (hypertension)
    High LDL cholesterol ("bad" cholesterol)
    Low HDL cholesterol ("good" cholesterol)
    High triglycerides
    High blood glucose (sugar)
Family history of premature heart disease
    Physical inactivity
    Cigarette smoking

My nan always says to me " we got a breakfast, lunch and dinner ".
I watch a lot of food documentaries because I find them interesting not to research for my own diets, and I remember 2 "big" events in history they think are to blame. One was when America changed from sugar to corn syrup and the big one I think was nestle but could be wrong may have been another big chocolate brand was a product that was the first to advertise to mothers as a snack before dinner because before then snacking in average homes was very rare.
There was a news article on the daily mail yesterday with the headline

"3st 3lbs eats what he grows... and told by health officials he is obese" Then I wonder what we are teaching the kids. things like this are what do make you develop an eating disorder or an unhealthy relationship with food.
it might not be much, but its better than a kick in the teeth:rotfl:

I could but unless you have academic access it would be pointless as I'm not sure they're freely available online.

Hmm, not anymore. If you could give me the references anyway I might be able to find them. Or at least read the abstracts. :)

My british heart foundation tape measure says 37 - 40 iinches is increasing health risk and over 40.1 inch is high risk. woman are 31.5-34.5 and 34.5 and over is high risk.

With the how bmi I saw on a documentary that a lot of it is actually fat that's around your organs, what you would imaginge to be suet in a cow. I think that was also on the men who made us fat on bbc
