PCN & Towed Vehicle - Grounds for Appeal?

Was visiting my brother-in-law on Saturday - his driveway was full so parked on a single yellow line outside of his house. Unfortunately I parked with 2 wheels on the pavement in order to get out of the way of traffic (the pavement being very wide I thought this would be the more sensible option). Looking outside of the window of his 3rd floor flat just over 30 minutes later and my car had vanished. Evidently it had been towed following receiving a PCN from Haringey Council for being 'parked with one or more wheels on or over a footpath...'. The details of the PCN appear to be in order - however, this was issued at 1601hrs and my receipt from the car pound states that the car was towed at 1605hrs. This seems like record time for towing a vehicle! Is there grounds for appeal here? I have had to pay £255 to release the car (£55 for the PCN, £200 to release the car). Any help would be much appreciated.

London rules, no parking on pavements unless stated.
Probably unlucky with the tow-truck being near.0 -
It a waste of time NOT appealing as they have your money. Get on over to pepipoo as they have a few appeals you could use.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Get over to pepipoo and search 'no-brainer' or 'towaway' to read all the many recent successes of full refunds of towaway fees and PCNs (the whole lot is normally refunded in the end). Newbies are told it's a no-brainer to always appeal a Council tow all the way to adjudication:

So appeal it with pepipoo's help, basing your wording on other tow threads you read in your research there.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
