MP3 Player virus??

I think my 40gb IRiver has got a virus on it because when i rebooted after plugging it into my laptop, my laptop wouldnt boot so i've just remastered my hard drive :mad: and formatted my IRiver, does that mean my IRiver will be clear of the virus?
