faulty zanussi fridge freezer

Hi
my parents zanussi fridge freezer znb 344 has been playing up for a few months now. its over 4 years old and came brand new with their new build home.
it has a temperature display that keeps bleeping to say the temp inside the freezer is too warm. it cant be as the freezer has ice inside. the display is amber colour to say its showing a high internal temp, when it should be blue according to the manual.
we have tried adjusting the temp dials to high but it doesn't resolve the issue, we still get the audible beeping and amber colour display. the fridge freezer seems to be cooling/working ok but the display suggests its not.
the manual suggests the fridge should ideally be 5 deg C (the display shows 9) and the freezer should be colder than -18 and our display shows -10.
any one know whats wrong here? faulty thermostat or sensor or something? where would this be located? if I can find I might try to replace it.
Thanks

Firstly, you need an independent way of measuring the actual freezer temperature.
You can purchase fridge/freezer thermometers off auction sites. Don't buy the really cheap digital ones as they aren't always very accurate.
Have you tried stating the Sale of Goods Act to the retailer? Large items such as a fridge/freezers should be expected to last at least 6 years. If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!
