Broken tent, do I have to accept repair?

I bought a tent on the 4th July.
We pitched it on the 9th July to check it out and discovered a bit missing from a pole. I took the pole back to the shop who sorted it for me.
We used the tent for our holiday, 24th - 29th July. After the first night we found a rip where one of the inners attaches to the outer.
I took it back to the shop yesterday (6th Aug) but as it was out of the 28 days, they would only repair it.
I'm not sure that I want this, as I would think that it would rip again and I'd prefer a replacement.
I was told that it was repair or nothing due to the timing.
Do I have to accept a repair? I expected this tent to last longer than one night before ripping. It was advertised as a £700 tent, with the summer sale price at £200. I would expect a £20 tent to not last long but not a supposedly £700 one.
I bought it on a credit card, but I wondered where I stand with the retailer first.

Yes they can repair, replace or refund. They are meeting their legal obligations. You however have fallen into the typical marketing claptrap.
Although you are entitled to have it fixed. These £200 family tents are crap, they are nowhere near worth £700.
They are always on "sale" You paid £200 for a tent not £700.
£700 is outwell on sale territory. Not some marked up own brand.0 -
As above, yes they can.0

Whilst the above are correct, the durability of the productis insufficient as it may have had a manufacturing defect and the repair willnot bring it back up to a 100% standard. Unless it is run though the stitchingmachine again with sufficient fabric to hold it, you could argue the toss withthe retailer for a while. If they take it back in to repair, ask them to sendit to manufacturer and get them to write up a report, specifically mentioning whetherthe integrity has been compromised by the problem.
