Supplier of 'standard' SD memory cards?

Where can I find them?

I want SD cards, not SDHC.

I tried sorting within Amazon and eBay for cheapest, thinking the SD ones would be at the low end, but everything appears to be SDHC.

I want the older SD type for a card reader that isn't SDHC compatible.

The "standard" capacity (non-SDHC) cards went up to 2GB, if I remember rightly. So if you type "2GB" into the search field you should find what you want.

The above information is correct - SD cards were limited to 2GB so you'll need something like this:

I don't know if they exist but at the time of the SDHC changeover, there were 4GB SD cards that weren't SDHC cards but they didn't seem to work with SD or SDHC devices.

Good advice actually.

It is silly to stick with SD cards simply because of having an old SD only card reader.

I have bought card readers for £1 that will read SDHC cards which are available with many more GB per £.

The old card SD only reader is obsolete - buy a new one that can read SD and SDHC!

No, THAT is useless advice. A SDHC card reader will be easier to find and much more useful than chasing ancient 2GB memory cards. AND it will still read the old cards so they won't be 'useless to use'.
SD actually goes up to 4GB. There are plenty of reasons to still be buying SD (not HC) cards, like my wife's car stereo, and maybe decent cameras etc), but NOT a card reader which is so easily replaceable.
Anyway if you really are stuck with SD, eBay of all places (land of the fake SD card) can be useful with people selling your their old out of date stock as something 'special'! You just have to find sellers who have taken the time to check and label what they're selling correctly

Thanks but no thanks to all those who offered the tangential advice to buy a new card reader, but no. Don't wanna.

It's built into a laptop, and I just want cards that go with that reader and that laptop. I don't want or need to use the cards with anything else.

You can tell me it's 'silly' all you want, but that's the way I want it.

As an alternative to SD cards & to get round the 2GB limit you can get tiny USB drives that are designed to live permenantly in a USB slot & only stick out a few mm
