Splits in chord on Hills Hoist

I've noticed the outer plastic protective covering on the lines in my Hills Hoist has started to split in a number of places, exposing the inner nylon chord. Is there anything I can do to patch it up to make it last longer? I've tried covering the split parts over with transparent tape but the wet weather has caused the patches to unravel.

Had to look up Hills Hoist and was disappointed to find it's a rotary washing line.

Its weathering of the line. Put up with it or replace the whole cord. Its not difficult - you just have to remember how it all threads together.

Oh I tried to play that game once before. If it's not difficult, would you like to come and demonstrate how it's done???:rotfl:0
