Llyods PPI Advice Needed

Hi All
My father-in-Law took out a loan from Llyods in 2005 and has only just realised that he had PPI. I've asked him whether or not PPI was explained to him at the time and he can't remember. He can't remember if they advised him about it or even mentioned it to him at all. All he can say is he's positive that had they gone through the ins and outs of it he wouldn't have taken it.
My question is; when he fills in the forms from the FOS and they ask about details regarding the PPI (whether he was told it was compulsary, wasn't told about it at all, etc etc) what is the best answer to put to make sure the process of getting a refund goes as smoothly as possible. It does have the option of saying "can't remember" but I'm guessing if he puts this then it will make for the beginning of a long drawn out process which could end up with him getting nothing back.
Thanks

Forgot to mention, he still has all the paperwork for the loan and a section showing the PPI amount (£2000 on an £8000 loan - no wonder the banks make money!!!!!)0

there is no best answer, because you could put something that proves ot be untrue and then your complaint will be scuppered anyway.
Put the truth.
And see if it was single premium.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
