Natwest student account overdraft

Hi guys.
Does anyone know whether the overdraft facility is automatic or whether you have to apply?
I recently upgraded my account with natwest to a student account. It is all set up and ready to go, however one advisor told me the overdraft will kick in when my student loan goes in and another advisor said I have to go into the branch and apply (again, conflicting info as one website then said this application is an internal one that doesn't use credit reference agencies).
Any advice?
Thank you

I believe you have to apply.
I don't think the student loans is relevant. When you have a confirmed place at university the initial overdraft should be available.
You will have to apply for any increases as well - they are definitely not automatic.0 -
You can apply by calling lending on 023 8022 6433 press option 2 then option 2 again.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0
