Mis-sold 'Gold' card - Reclaiming

Hi guys,
I have been wondering if I would be able to claim for someone mis-selling me a gold card a few years ago. I was in a bit of a difficult position with my finances and he said to me that the only way I could get an overdraft was to take out this gold card, paying I think it was £18 a month or something similar. Is it worth me trying to reclaim? Will I need any of the documents? (Im not sure how it works, but will my account number i have now, be the same as the gold one? I did stop paying the gold accoutn when I was a bit better off finacially, but cant remember if I closed my account or whether it was downgraded - it was all with the same bank).
Thanks xx

You'll need proof it was originally mis-sold.

It may be the bank would only have offered you an overdraft in your position with that specific account.

Edit: This article was pushed again in todays MSE email

    Any good?

  • Thanks for your reply Wywth, I am signed up to the MSE email and that's what has prompted me to look into seeing if it is worth me trying to reclaim :) I dont really have any proof, other than the sales assistants word against mine (I know who the guy is as he was also the same person that mis-sold me PPI on my loan!).

  • Just thought I would update you all, I have had a call this morning from the bank - my fees plus interest plus a good will gesture is being paid. The bloke that sold me the account for an 'overdraft' actually noted on the system I wanted the account for Travel Insurance!!! I wouldnt mind, but I only started going on holiday once I was out of debt like two years ago! :)
