Can anyone recommend a good scanner?

Hi all.

My scanner has just gone bust. Need to get a new one asap.

Can anyone recommend a good one to use with windows 7 please?

Definitely not after a combined scanner/printer unless its the dogs proverbial.

Cheers

I bought this one back in March when I updated to Windows 7 and it is proving to be a winner ...

    Absolutely !

I've had an Epson Perfection 2400 for years so I wouldn't disagree with the suggestion above by Oblivion.

It depends what you need. I wanted fast scanning of documents and photos. I went with this:
    Canon Canoscan 9000F MK II

    Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Canon-Canoscan-9000F-All--Scanner/dp/B00BQ9Z00E/ref=sr_1_5?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1375891637&sr=1-5&keywords=canon+scanner
    Thanks

I also have an Epson Perfection (V300 photo). Had it a couple of years I believe, works with Windows 7, have used its excellent negative scanning facility to get some decent scans of some old faded prints that I still had negatives for. Gave me images better than scanning a new print.
Does a marvellous job for me, which is mostly scanning A4 documents.

  • hi guy,

If you need a Barcode Scanner, I think I have a good deal. I would like to share with you if you like it.

I have a Bluetooth Wireless Laser Barcode Scanner, I bought this product to scan product barcodes into a worksheet or database. amazed at how well this unit functions when I received it. It is light, but not cheaply made. Rather sturdy, in fact. Bar Code Scanning support USB2.0 Cable Connection and Bluetooth Wireless Connection. The bluetooth works very well. It scans incredibly fast and accurately. If you have a small business and you want to go into the stock-room, you can take the scanner away from your computer. If you're not in Bluetooth range the scanner will store the scanned barcodes until you connect up again, and then it will send the barcodes over to your computer in a batch.

I just can't say enough good things about this device. Hopefully, the long-term reliability lives up to the initial quality.

You can find it if you search "Inateck Scanner" on amazon.co.uk, I think!

Hope it is useful for you!

I'm sure if the OP had wanted a barcode scanner he would have included the word "barcode" in his post...
  • Hopefully not too late - not sure of your exact needs or budget.

I'm a really happy user of a Fuji ScanSnap. They cost a smidge over £200 and provide paper feed and duplex scanning, auto loading into Evernote and a raft of other stuff.
